Intimate Wedding at St. Mary's on the Lake [Uptown - Chicago, IL}

I don’t photograph many weddings anymore but when I do, I only take on intimate weddings & I fall in love all over again with them. Scott & Erika had a beautiful wedding in Uptown at St. Mary’s on the Lake, one of the most gorgeous churches I’ve been to in Chicago. The inside is stunning with golden ceilings, marble columns and awe-inspiring vastness, and the outside has more wonderful columns and arches and amazing places for portraits! Their wedding was the first I’ve photographed since before the pandemic began and while I was nervous, it was summer, numbers were low, I was masked and their wedding was the smallest I’ve ever photographed. It was a dream. Their sweet pup Ripley was even able to join us for some photos outside the church gardens in the beautiful sunlit afternoon. Liz & Sean are Married! Chicago: South Shore Cultural Center Wedding

A few weekends ago I had the honor of photographing my friend Liz as she married her guy Sean. Their ceremony and celebration was at the South Shore Cultural Center on the south shore of Chicago and I was blown away at how beautiful it was. The whole day was perfect! It down poured while I was on my way to meet Liz & the girls and I was a little worried we wouldn't be able to do outdoor portraits. But it stopped as soon as I got to Liz's house and didn't rain the rest of the evening! I'll let the photos show my favorite highlights from their beautiful day. 

Sean gave Liz's daughter a ring also, when he asked Liz to marry him. *Heart exploding*

Liz's friend (also a Courtney!) did the flowers for their big day and they were incredibly beautiful. Every detail was perfect!

Liz surprised Sean with a taco truck at the end of the night for him and all of their guests. It was a huge hit!

Erin and her Getting Ready Story

My sweet, beautiful friend Erin asked me if I would swing by her hotel last week before she got married(!!!) so I could take some photos of her details. If you know me, you know details are my absolute faaaaaaaaaaaaavorite thing to photograph; especially wedding details. The prettier the better. The sparklier the better. The blingy-er the better. I just made up words to prove a point - you get the idea! I showed up to a hotel room at The Langham and was greeted with squeals of delight from all of the girls and a giant hug from Erin. Her girls and her mom all surrounded her and the love and excitement was just infectious. I mean, I was so thrilled for Erin before arriving, but after spending the morning with this crew, I was excited beyond words. Erin's posse is legit! And her MOM... You can just see the pride beaming out of this woman for her daughter. Not gonna' lie, my eyes were welling up in the room with them and did so again while culling through my photos. These photos are some of my favorite wedding moments I've ever captured and I've done this a lot! Enough talking, let the photos speak for themselves!

I'm so excited to share these with you all and am so honored, Erin, that you asked me to document your special morning for you. I love every detail that you put into this wedding almost as much as I love you and Kevin! I'm so happy for you both and I hope this helps cure your post-wedding withdrawals!
